World Scouts from the West Midlands – Harry’s World Scout Jamboree 2023 Fundraiser.
Webb-Elec are delighted to be sponsoring West-Midlander Harry in his fundraiser to attend the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in South Korea as a UK Scout Ambassador!
In summer 2023, over 50,000 scouts from 135 countries across the globe shall attend Saemangeum in South Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree, which is hosted once every four years by a different nation each time. The Organisation aims to promote and share the values of world citizenship, charity, and adventure, of which Harry is one of only two young people selected to attend from his district. The theme for the landmark Jamboree is ‘Draw your Dream!’, which aims to give outstanding scouts from across the globe the chance to share their aspirations and enhance their cultural understanding as global citizens.
Harry’s trip will start in Seoul with his unit of 36 scouts and then move on to the Jamboree campsite in Saemangeum. The final part will be spent with a scouting family in South Korea where he can truly experience what life is like over there and learn about the local culture.
This prestigious opportunity will see Harry meeting like-minds from across the globe to discuss global issues, active citizenship, world community dialogue, and sustainable, scientific, and robotic development. We at Webb-Elec share these values and constantly look to drive our business forward, both through technological advancement, and by enhancing our environmental sustainability; we look forward to hearing of Harry’s experiences and advice upon his return!
We’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Harry and learning of his resourceful approach to fundraising for the trip; he is raising some £3,500 through numerous charitable activities including car washing, bag packing and community events. We are proud to be a part of his fundraising effort and hope that, during his trip next year, Harry will demonstrate the hard-working, resourceful, and welcoming hallmarks of the West Midlands to help and inspire others.
